2 Rockstar Ways to Have It All

window 2

We want to have it all.  But how will we know when we’ve got it?

How will we know when it’s all enough?

Yikes, that’s a biggie. Okay, let’s slow down, let’s break it down a minute.

In this our (maddeningly) overstuffed, (ruthlessly) overstocked, (sickeningly) overjammed lives, shooting for having ‘enough’ sounds pretty lame.

Right, I mean we want to go after the Big Dreams and burst forth with Infinite Abundance!

Why just aim for enough when you could have more?  When you could have even more upon that, when you could have it all – when you could have everything?

And on and on our wild minds go until we tend to think of ‘enough’ as really not enough.

What would enough feel like, anyway? And even if we felt it for a second, what would come next?

There are two ways I can think of where we come to know – taste, feel, inhabit, exude – the true experience of enough.

One is meditation, which is the full energetic occupation of: now is enough.

It’s the freedom of releasing to the universe, of saying (essentially): I don’t need the past to exist for me to exist, nor do I need the future.

No need. = Enough.

So that’s way number one.

The other is creation, which is the grand artistic expression of: I have enough.

As in: I have enough (imagination, wit, trickery, courage, verve) to make magic, to disrupt a pattern, to flip a switch and turn otherwise deadened things on.

That’s way number two.

In both of these ways – in meditation and in creation – our willingness to occupy ourselves with ‘enough’ is precisely how we allow the universe to engage with us, to reveal what we didn’t see before when we were full of the illusion of ‘not enough.’

Being with enough opens up the space for us to be inspired.

Inspiration is simply the universe responding to our joy with being enough.

When we finally stop cramming and just let ourselves inhabit enough, we are given more. More intuition, more inspiration, more ideas, more freedom, more pleasure, more peace.

The only thing we really need then, to have it all, is enough.

And the clever thing is . . . we’ve already got it.

P.S. I could never say this enough but I’ll say it a million times: thank you for your comments, emails, messages, feedback, encouragement and love.  And thank you for sharing my work; my heart and soul goes into absolutely every single thing I do here.  It truly means the world to me to know it touches you in some small way.

So much love, peace and blessings to you all. :)

P.P.S. Have you seen my new YouTube Channel? It is here. Would love to know what you think of this new way to get to know each other. Xxx

      Hey Aaron,

Always always love hearing from you.

We little creatures must often look just a little bit hilarious from a million miles out, right? :)

      Peace to you, my friend.

Enough is enough, of past and future, and the now, as much as available from universal energy, is enough, is a great slogan, Allison, to galvanize our all efforts into becoming. It is showing in the ‘tejas’ radiating your face in your UT footages….xxbest wishes.

      My dear Raj,
Thank you for your beautiful comment. “Galvanize our efforts into becoming” – I adore that.
And now I must ask you (I’m sorry I do not know) – what are ‘tejas’? I love learning new words from you. :)
Thank you, as always, for your time and care and presence.
Peace and light to you, dear one. Always. Xxx

Raj, that is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. I LOVE this. I found this online when looking up ‘tejas in sanskrit’ : When you obtain access to the light that you are you are called a tejasvi (masculine) /tejasvini (feminine) one possessed of light.
Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you, thank you for your beautiful words. :)

I think this applies to material or spiritual haves.

One lesson I learned from the technology startup world is to celebrate what you have, how little it may be. Celebrations make it easier to accept “good enough” for now and aim for more later.

Yesterday’s great ideas or solutions might be barely good enough today. That drives people anxious: how do I know that something is “good enough” fully knowing that it isn’t perfect? I guess, in other words, it takes courage to settle with enough regardless of missing bits.

      Hello, hello Brian,
First up, thank you very kindly for taking the time to read and leave such an awesome comment. I’m so glad this one rang true for you.
I love how you took the whole idea and applied it to tech startup and celebrating. That is incredibly cool – the idea of a celebration being an experience of ‘enough.’ I will remember this for sure. I must admit I fall into that perfectionism thing and what you say is spot on: “it takes courage” to put out your best even knowing it won’t be perfect.
In line with your thoughts. . . I’d say blogging is the same way, too. DO your thing, enjoy it, keep going, right.
Thank you for the though provoking idea!
      Peace, always,
      Allison

Girl, you nailed it! Again! You are such a wise one. Many have much to learn from your teachings. I’m just now “getting” it, or maybe for a little while now…getting that enough is enough. And being happy about it. I mean, if we can’t be happy with what we’ve got, we’ll never find contentment with anything in the future, (as you said). If we lived in happiness with all we’ve been blessed with – if we were thankful in each moment, just imagine how much peaceful and fulfilled our lives would be. We would want for nothing. Love you, girl. xoxo Rock on wit’ yo bad self! ;)

      Hello GORGEOUS Carol B –
You know I love your energy so much – thank you for your presence and your glow, you are so much the best. :)
I have learned from all those who have gone before me, that is for sure. I am always so grateful to be surrounded by bright lights showing me the way.
It is a one-breath-at-a-time kind of commitment to stay in that peaceful place, isn’t it? That’s the work – the Good Work I call it – but still, the work of coming back to center, back home.
I love you to the moon and around the stars and back again, soul sister
Rock on, my love – stay incredible and THANK YOU for being you, baby. XOXOXOXOX

Great post, Allison, and timely for me. I have observed that my meditation spilled over into the need to be creative if that makes any sense. It’s as if I needed to have some sort of solid platform within myself from which to work. But then creating is a remarkably fulfilling act, particularly when we just let it nudge us along and don’t get in the way too much… :)

Creating for me is very closely related to giving, and as we know, giving invites the sensation of fullness. So creating somehow pulls us into the grand conversation the universe if having with itself…

    Much Love
    Michael

WOW, Michael – your comment is so tremendously touching on every level. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I couldn’t agree more with you about meditation leading to creativity.

I could swear I can’t have one without the other. It’s as though I need the silence to get full and when I get full of that gorgeous inspiration I’m lead just exactly to a way of expressing it, in away, it’s an endless cycle of filling and emptying, filling and emptying. . . . a cosmic, creative, indulgent, delicious cycle, right? :)

I just adore that you say creativity is giving, that is so beautiful and I fully know just what you mean.

And this, THIS I love: “Pulls us into the grand conversation the universe is having with itself.” MMmmmmm I could eat these words or drink them or paint them grand on a wall. Gorgeous, gorgeous.

Thank you so much, my blessing of a friend, for your artistic and soulful light in this place. I am so grateful for it.

      Peace and so much love,

      Allison
