Glory Begin Podcast 1: The Power Of A New Beginning

gb

Beginning something that matters deeply to our souls takes serious courage.  Change is hard for most of us even when the change we intend to make is one that will improve our health in mind, body, and spirit.

Ironically, it’s when we set out to do something that we know is good for us that we most fear beginning it.  Staying stuck in the same old patterns, though painful, is easy. Disrupting those old patterns can bring us face to face with some harsh resistance – both from inside of ourselves and from the outside world.

It’s in that space – that tricky space made up of the moments where self doubt, fear, and loneliness threaten to derail your quest for joy and a better life – that I most want to serve you.

Do you want to rock everyday from a place of refreshed positive energy?  Do want to stay grounded in your worth, values, spirituality, and creativity along the way?

Groovy, baby, then I have a message for you.  You can press play above and listen to my first podcast or you can read the transcript from it below. Either way you are insatiably gorgeous and I love you madly for being here. :)

Podcast 1: Welcome to Glory Begin!

Welcome, you guys, you sexy angels, to the new blog and this first podcast! I have no idea what I’m doing technically but I’m learning – maybe we’ll get some groovy music or something in the future right, this is just the raw opening.

I’m supremely excited to have you here with me today on Glory Begin. I’m Allison, the ghost in the machine so to speak, the creator of this sanctuary for creativity and spirituality.

This has been a vision of mine for quite some time now and it’s just wild to be able to finally share it with you. So thank you, thank you seriously – thank you for bringing your energy and your spirit. That’s the good stuff.

WHy Glory Begin right like what is this really all about. So some months back as I was sort of transitioning the content of my blogging and my writing into more intimate topics I really wanted to do the best I could to make my writing an offering. I prayed and meditated on that, you know, how can I use the gift of writing that I was unearthing to serve other people?

All the devotion I gave to these thoughts – this is wild – I swear it jostled the spirit of my mom. My mom died at the age of 53 after a severe and sudden battle with breast cancer. That was eight years ago now, and somehow I have felt called to sort of crack the code of life in a way you know what can I do with my life right now knowing first hand that time is precious.

And I woke up on Easter morning, no kidding, and one word silently viscerally woke me up like a loud voice it literally consumed my whole being and I write it down immediately. The one word was BEGIN. Just that, just one clear word with a huge resounding message: BEGIN.

Don’t wait, don’t stop, don’t second guess, just begin.

And I’ve been in that message ever since. I’ve been listening to the call of it – like Begin what? Begin the work of your soul, the work of your life. Begin to build your house on rock. Get centered in your spirit and your soul. Get about the real work that you are meant to do in the world. Not necessarily what brings money but what brings joy.

ANd as I developed this message, keeping up with my writing and my daily meditations and prayers, listening to my intuition, my inner voice, it grew clearer and clearer what I needed to share. I was taking in everything from the outside, the horrible news about war and unrest and hatred and greed and trying to get to the bottom of what was causing all of the sadness in the world, in ourselves, our depressions and addictions and self doubt.

Here’s the thing. We have got to stop telling ourselves that our talents and gifts are useless. They are not useless in fact they are the KEY to unlocking the grand potential that is our lives.

People talk about finding your passion – right – like go looking under rocks – where is my passion. But that’s a bit misleading I think. You already found it. You were born with it, its in you not outside of you. When you do your creative thing, you feel peaceful and energized at the same time. It’s like flying and being grounded at the same time. It’s impossible and it’s the best feeling in the world. It’s the flow. It’s your humanity sexing with your divinity.

It’s work but it’s the real work where you don’t need badges or promotions or gold stars you just want so badly to do it and get lost in it.

This is spirituality for me. I can’t separate my desire to write from my desire to fully know and explore spirit. It’s my way to connect. I write from Spirit to get to spirit and to extend spirit out into the world.

Amazing right?! This is fantastic, this expression of my gift is the key to happiness and joy and abundance! This is glorious! So why don’t we all do this more?  If it’s so beautiful and amazing why do we resist it?

Because the world tells us in so many ways that we don’t need either of these things. We don’t need creativity because art won’t make us money. We don’t need spirituality because we don’t have time and we are too busy and we already have all the answers.

The world doesn’t want you to know inner beauty because the minute you do – the minute you become fully aware of your incredible inner power, and you truly understand who you are and what truly matters – love – you don’t need to buy so much crap any more. You don’t need to be greedy or afraid anymore. When you begin to unlock the secrets of your soul it feeds you in a way nothing else ever could.

When you have that peaceful inner confidence, you stop throwing your precious money at fear. You don’t want to be distracted by hateful media and obnoxious advertising. You realize you don’t need to buy what they are trying to sell you because you already have everything you need to be successful.

It’s time to begin doing what we were put here to do – getting in touch and in tune with the guidance of our inner spirits. It’s time to begin that creative project or that diet or that recovery, it’s time now to get centered on what really matters to us in this life.

Spirituality and creativity are not the values of the world, but they are my values. And they are the values of every truly successful, happy, gracious human being I have ever met. Individually we know this. In our souls we know this. We are programmed to know this inside. It’s how we are built.

It’s when we let the massive gripping world noise pull us away from who we truly are that we get hurt and lonely and sad and scared.

Spirituality and creativity.  They are the foundation of this project that is Glory Begin. They are the way I built my house on rock instead of sand.

SO I invite you guys to begin to listen to your inner voice. Get to know who you really are at your core. Meditate. Pray, journal, seek peace above all other things. Unleash your wild creativity and connect with a higher energy. Call it whatever you want but get there in a way that’s true for you.

Because the message from my beloved mom is crystal clear, our time is limited here. We’ve got to birth our meaningful work now, not when we’re ready or when we’re perfect or when the timing is just right.

Begin when everything is wrong. Don’t wait, you guys.

I for one definitely want to see you rock your most amazing life.

Ok so let’s see how long was this podcast? Geez sorry, maybe a bit long! I’ll try to keep shorter next time. Thank you so much for listening – thank you, thank you! Please sign up to stay in touch by entering your email on the blog page. I promise to keep updating this sanctuary of ours with all kinds of good energy.

Most of all, thank you for YOUR energy!

Big love guys. Peace, always and always.

What a wonderful podcast dear Allison, I LOVE hearing your voice and your words. I remember when I first came over to your blog and we talked about you losing your dear mom so young. And now you are truly beginning. Her love, light, blessings, peace, joy and strength flow through every part of you yet you bring the beautiful message that has grown in your heart from that day to let it fly and grow as your mom would want it to . It is so true that we can live freer and truer lives…if we really seek it. All love, peace and blessings to you my sweet friend….with much love…and to new beginnings… Sherri xoxoxoxoxo

I love the themes of peace, love, and spirit. You’re right, it’s time to follow our inner self and stop making excuses. Follow the spirit. Two of my New Years resolutions were to meditate every day, and to start pursuing my writing passion. The writing is finally coming along, albeit slowly. The meditation needs a lot of work though. By the way, do you ever write down your dreams? Or know anything about lucid dreaming?

      Hey John,

Thanks for taking the time to listen in! I am really excited that part of your practice is to meditate each day – I know it can be tough to commit to, that’s why right now (literally, this minute!) I am creating and recording guided meditations to offer Glory Begin readers as podcasts.

Some people have a hard time calming the mind and prefer to have a guide, and I would be honored to be that guide. My meditations are varied and for me silence is deepest, but I also think mindful mantras can help, takes the pressure off in a way :)

I really love your blog and had never heard of the TCK concept before. I am curious how that affects your spirituality. If you ever have the time, drop me an email or something.

I recieve words in dreams very often and I write them down. If I don’t, I lose them. Words are huge for me, that is absolutely where my intuition comes through.

I don’t know much about what lucid dreaming means, but I have them often, too. I have had many dreams where something is happening and I will ‘decide’ to stay in the dream or to wake up out of it. Have you had these experiences?

Really glad to hear from you! Awesome comment.

Awesome, I’m totally going to check out some of the meditations. I definitely need a guide at this beginning stage of the game! Thanks for checking out my blog. I’ve been exposed to a lot and I think that’s shaped the way I view my spirituality. But it’s a long journey that never really ends so I’m still working at it.

My lucid dreams used to be quite frequent, and in the dreams I would have fun by choosing to do things that aren’t physically possible in this world, like walking through walls. I’ve heard of a lot of people using lucid dreams to get their questions answered, by asking them out loud in a dream state and listening for the answer. I’d like to find answers there some day.

Hey Allison, I found your blog through another excellent blog “Unless You Care Project” by Eric Ungs, and I am so extremely happy to have found yours. I have just finished listening to your first podcast and I truly enjoyed every word you said because when a person is actually “connecting” not only from an intellectual level, but from a heart full of rich and positive emotions, the interaction is completely natural, honest and beautiful. Thank you very much Allison for speaking from your heart’s center sharing a very important message of “Beginning”, a simple message and yet incredibly powerful, necessary and timely in the kind of world we are currently living. The true secret to awesome living is not in the acquiring of all the material stuff that this world is offering us daily…but in truly and genuinely connecting with like minded and conscious awakened human beings, sharing life changing messages and exchanging life giving energy. Thank you once again for your work, and I am grateful to the infinite Universe and Divine Source for directing me to your blog…the natural law of attraction is in operation constantly…

I can’t tell you how much joy you have brought to my heart with your comment! I thank you for listening to this message and I thank you so humbly for your words. I can tell from reading what you say here that you and I are kindred awakened spirits indeed. I could not agree with you more about ‘exchanging life giving energy” – this is what we are put here for, yes?! I am so happy you agree.

I am so grateful for having teamed up with Eric Ungs and I was so honored to be mentioned by him. His work is so meaningful and important. Love that!

Thank you, Alejandro, for being here and bringing your gorgeous energy to this place. The Universe, the Divine Source has absolutely brought us together for a reason . . . and THAT is a wondrous and beautiful thing!

Thank you for sharing a part of you with us. I can’t wait to hear more from you. It’s funny. You know how, when you meet someone on the blogosphere, you are missing something about them, something that we don’t think about on a normal basis. To me, it is their voice. In most cases, the voice and what you do that goes along with it (I mean, for example, the expressive use of the hands, saying “um” alot, and listening intently in an interested manner,) introduces us to the real person, not the spell-proofed and edited one on the page. You sound exactly as I imagined you would, authentic and inspirational.

Also, I like hearing how the word “beginning” came to you, and its personal and special meaning for you. A while back, the phrase ‘soul prayers’ came to me, and with it the knowing that I have to do something with it as a part of my blog. I am still figuring that out, but I will. Coincidentally, my blog name “seeking querencia” came to me in the same way. Your podcast inspires me to begin creating something special around ‘soul prayer.’ It also inspires me to find a way to do something else that has been on my mind and is important to me–guided meditations.

Like your blog posts, you inspire one to do more, to act on our dreams and that is a beautiful thing.

Blessings, love and Namasté to you wise one, Lydia

      Dear, dear Lydia,

THANK YOU so much for listening and for your beautiful, beautiful comment! It is really funny, isn’t it? What difference a voice makes. I know you will understand this, as I was getting Glory Begin ready I was of course summoning all the good loving energy I could and I kept getting this message: use your voice, use your voice. It was divine guidance for sure. I had been praying “Love use all of me,” so I guess this was part of what she had in mind. 

It is such a gift and a deep honor for me to speak with you here. I can’t tell you enough how much it rocks my soul to know it resonates with you. Reading your comment brought me so much JOY! This is the real work, the good work, the work of lighting each other up. Using what we are designed to do to come together in love.

I love, love, LOVE the very sound of “soul prayer” . . . there is no question that it has come to you for a reason and it needs to be released and shared in whatever form comes through you. What a blessing, I wish you much love and light as you birth this new thing. Enjoy, enjoy  And I’m thrilled to the brim to hear that you are looking to do more guided meditations. . I will have something very special to offer you soon and I hope that it will serve you as you develop your practice.

I’m so grateful for your spirit, dear friend.

Wishing you peace, love and creative joy, always and always,
