Feeding on Live Wires: Angels in the Real World

wires crossed

Do you ever talk with angels?

WAIT.

Wait, hold up – if you aren’t sure how you want to answer that just yet, let me roll this out another way:

I have the weirdest thing for wires right now. As in: power lines. (Barbed wire, too, but that’s probably another conversation.)

I keep snapping pictures of them. I know it’s springtime and the thing to do would be to photograph flowers but for me, for some reason, it’s wires. They fascinate me.

Likely boring as sin to the average person, these images I’m collecting – and trust, there are a heaping lot of them – are alive to me. They speak. They buzz.

I love the way the monstrous cables stretch and sag and loop and drape and glide and crisscross each other, endlessly it seems.

The wild, groping live wires slung up sky-high across the miles have me strangely locked in on them. There is a pull, a curious draw of some sort.

And so it is that I have come to believe in communicating with angels.  Not just believing in angels as some lofty thing to throw around, but learning that they are real fields of brilliant energy and they are up for real, true, actual back-and-forth conversations.

I believe angels speak to us through signs and symbols in the real world that we can understand. They may not make their messages strikingly obvious (sometimes they do) but they make them interesting, mysterious and intriguing enough that we learn to listen closely; to pay attention to ourselves, to our world . . . and to them.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been practicing fine-tuning my call/response relationship with universal Energy, specifically with angels*.

One of the coolest things I am experiencing is that we are not left alone to drift aimlessly through our lives. Not even a little bit. Instead, we are constantly supported and sought out by a Love so eager for union that it never ceases to reach for us.

We exist in an interactive universe where peaceful, loving energy is constantly being transmuted, extended and exchanged. Human and divine are learning each other.

And when we make a spiritual request, answers head our way immediately and without fail. Our job is to tune in to the current, to plug in to the divine conversation, so that we can learn to receive the guidance we seek.

Weeks ago I asked the angels to show up for me in real ways. I wanted something I could vibe with, sink my claws into; something I could hold, some kind of viable indication that living in this world doesn’t cut us off from our spirit but instead channels us closer to it.

I rock the meditation scene. I adore working with inner light and learning to navigate the sacred space within. I am more than comfortable with invisible – but I still want REAL.

I want to feel something. I want something I can feed on, cling to, thrive off of. Something that makes me feel alive. I want something delicious – a connection that’s got moxie, verve, spice.

I want a conversation that’s powerful.  Electric.

Hey, now.

The wires, yeah?

The wires, it just could be, are a clue, a visible sign of an invisible truth: The electricity itself may be unseen but the power is real.

No matter what the circumstance, we are equipped with a direct connection to the Source through the power of our intuition, our spiritual life line. All we need to do is plug in. By tuning in to the high vibes of the universe, we become like the wires, the ones that stretch across the miles to reach each other and offer each other a current, a pulse, a connection.

I get that. I can see that. I can feed on that.

The angels communicate with us in ways we will understand. What takes some getting used to is realizing that we have to feel our way through the entire relationship we develop with these beautiful, clever Guides.

Our eyes will rarely – if ever – see them.

Our ears will rarely – if ever – hear them.

But our intuition (our homing device, our wire tap into Love) senses their presence all the time. And one by one, we are waking up to their call for connection.

I’ll be straight with you guys – I can’t tell you I know exactly what the message is in this lovely, tangled mess of photos of power lines.

I only know for weeks now I’ve been actively engaged in a whole new level of interaction with the angels, my guides, my messengers. And throughout these weeks I have been (borderline obsessively) photographing power lines.

I believe there are messages coming at us constantly and I believe this is one for me.

Maybe we are hesitant to trust. Maybe we need to slow it down and give our divine relationships time. I don’t know the full breadth and depth of what we can discover about talking with angels.

But I can promise you this:

I’m listening.

      Hey Brad, hey,

Haha, I totally think my angels are a trip. Maybe I’ll share more stories about how they have rocked my world on a daily basis. Divinity isn’t so serious all the time – there’s some majorly wild ENERGY all around us!

Have fun out there, my love. ;)

      Peace and light, always,

On the face of it, Allison, an outsider hooking into your site cannot be blamed if he finds you quirky and weird for taking pics of things as mundane as power lines. At a deeper level, our physical forms are merely sense-defined illusions, and, in actual fact, we are electrically charged cells floating around in a cosmic soup, connected to and radiating the energy we vibrate. Hence power lines, sagging, looping and criss-crossing, are a powerful metaphor to the message you seek to drive home…best wishes.

      Dearest Raj,

HHmmm quirky and weird – I’m surprisingly very OK with that. ;)

Thank you, thank you for your time and care in writing such a beautiful comment, my dear friend, I am so truly grateful to hear from you. I very much dig your mention of “cosmic soup” that makes me smile. ;)

I am so glad the power line metaphor resonated with you. Something tells me you and I are on the same wavelength in many ways. I’m so comforted to know it.

Sending you much peace and light – across time and space –

      always,

      Allison

Hey Girl, Call me crazy. You know me better than that. Of course, I believe in angels; they’ve saved my life countless times. If you are weird than I am too, because I keep a novena candle lit to my guardian angel, the only angel who is also a Saint, St. Michael. He, along with God, and other messeMyers, guides and spiritual beings surround me and like you, I listen.
      Blessings, peace, and love, Lydia

I wonder how many others are suddenly out of the blue – just lately, taking photos of these power lines!? I’m actually quite curious. …. I don’t really think it odd either. They’re very Interesting with all the design lines, power metaphor, connections, etc. They make great compositions. I admit to taking a plethora of power line pics here just recently myself. And, lastly I love your comments about angels and how they’re trying to communicate i.e. help us. Found this post extremely fascinating, loved it ! thanks for sharing.

Oh wow, thank you so much for this awesome comment, my friend!

I wonder now, too. Yes, I completely agree with you, the power lines do make gorgeous compositions. I think it is wild and fantastic that you have also taken pictures of power lines recently! You know what else? A beautiful poet and reader here sent me a picture of power lines that she recently took and she had written a poem with it called “Wires, Wires, Wired” – isn’t that amazing? And another reader sent me a note telling me she had recently bid on a painting of . . . power lines!

There is definitely a connection going on across the miles. And I LOVE it. :)

I am so thrilled you found that this piece resonated with you, SO grateful you shared that with me. It is always a great joy to hear your thoughts.

Sending so much peace and light your way, always,

It is incredible the connections we make in the strangest of ways, no? Something as wild as power lines can conjure up a million creative sparks.

Here’s to the power of intuition.

Much love and light your way,

Love your thoughts here. Being open to angels requires awareness of the subtle hints we receive, a nudge here, a little shove there, an inspirational thought that must have come from a divine source, and how wonderful it is to realise that we can still be the same, ordinary person we always were to everyone, whilst perceiving the incredible to share with all. Your interest in wires is all about communication, tuning in. Good luck.
    Love and blessings.

      Hello, hello Teri,

Thank you so much for taking the time and care to leave such an absolutely gorgeous comment. I just love everything you shared and I can feel the resonance in your energy right off the page. Thank you so much for that.

The interest in wires is such a strong one for me and it is so fascinating to hear from so many loving souls about their stories about communicating with the divine. Just as you say so elegantly, “we can still be the same, ordinary person we always were to everyone, whilst perceiving the incredible to share with all.” I LOVE this!

Here’s to tuning in, and all the glories and mysteries that await us. :)

Sending so much love and light,
