Fast Love: Welcome to The End of Time

Enchanting as it may sound to be on a quest of sorts, in one very particular (sometimes frustrating, sometimes lonely, sometimes disorienting) way, calling our spiritual journey a ‘journey’ is radically deceptive.

The thing about a journey is it implies that we are headed toward a particular destination and that getting ‘there’ takes some amount of time.

Probably a long time.

Like the excruciating amount of time it would take to – oh, say – walk barefoot across a barren desert or grow a beard down to your ankles.

Like a lifetime.

I mean, we are seekers. We are headed toward the Light; we are climbing the mountain; we are walking the path; we are traveling through the thick wilderness; the road is dusty and long; the trek is jagged and winding.

And beautiful, hopeful, brave little wanderers that we are, we have much – so damn much – to learn.

All true.

But don’t let the idea of a journey deceive you or exhaust you or get you tripped up about the immediacy of Love. Just because our spiritual development is lifelong process does not mean it takes us a lifetime to reach Love.

Love is not a distance or a length of time away.

Love is now.

The tricky (wonderful, wild) thing is that the adventure of a spiritual quest is not marked so much by time as it is by our ability to release ourselves from time altogether.

There is no time that stands between you and the Eternal Peace.

The Peace exists now.

You are the Peace.

The only obstacle between you and the experience of the Peace you already possess is your willingness to fully enter into it. To be aware and accepting of it.

Although it will take a lifetime for the mystery to unfold, the way to Love is not about the time it takes to reach it but the welcome you decide to give it into your presence. This is a journey not of distance but of acceptance and open-mindedness.

It is a call to come back into your Self.

This can take years or no time at all.

One of the most profound concepts described in A Course In Miracles is the ‘quickening’ of time. The Course stresses the idea that we can ‘hasten toward’ our connection with Love by choosing a miracle mindset, or a change of mind, which allows us to acknowledge the presence of Love in the here and now.

The miracle is simply our willingness to choose love over fear.  It is the awareness that we can decide to see Love and to welcome it into the present moment at any time.

In reference to the amount of time one would spend in meditation or prayer, for instance:

“Duration is not a major concern. One can easily sit an hour with closed eyes and accomplish nothing. One can easily give [Love] an instant and in that instant join with [it] completely.”

By getting beyond the illusion of time, our spiritual adventure can be thought of in a different way, a more immediate and accessible way.  We come to understand the following awesomeness: our spiritual journey is not equal to any measure of our distance from Love.

We are Love now. In this exact moment, we are the Light we seek.

To experience this fully is only a matter of welcome, not of time.

The moment we open our minds and invite the Peace willingly, release our blocks and our resistance to the truth, time falls away. Love is revealed as the only Presence, eternal, infinite, unending.

In our willingness to inhabit the Light of who we truly are, we realize that inside the Universal Peace, time does not exist. What exists in constant can not be bound by measure.

There is only Love and our moment to moment decision to align ourselves within it.

The experience of Love comes not in time but when we get beyond time. When we allow all of the inhibitions, fears and blocks to our infinite essence fall away.

Your spirit is Love now. Your spirit is Love always.

A beard down to your ankles, though?

That’s gonna take some time.

      Hello, hello Aaron,

How awesome to have you here. And I LOVE when the timing is spot on. That is the best.

      Peace, my friend, always.

I have been playing a great deal with the illusion of time. It’s an Earth construct, not a spiritual element. i was listening to a Story Water’s piece recently where time is referred to as a quality. Like beauty or spaciousness. Time is a quality we are using, which of course reminds me of another quote I can’t remember who said it. Time is for our use, we are not meant to be used by time. Great piece, my friend.

      Hello, hello my beautiful friend,

“an Earth construct” – I totally love how you put that. Yes, indeed. And I’m intrigued by the Story Water’s piece you reference and time as a quality, for our use.

THAT is gorgeous. And so fascinating.

I love that you are also exploring the idea of time as well. I am reading a book now in which the author D. Patrick Miller describes it in this way:

” . . . time and space are not fixed and immutable, but circumstantial and relative. In other words, we use the ideas of time and space to organize our reality, but they are not realities in themselves.”

      Ain’t the Universe grand. :)

As always, it is my great joy and pleasure to have your words, dear Noelle.

      Blessings, love and peace, always,

Being too early, being too late, is there enough time, is there too little time … always pondering about that limits us in our decisions and scares us. But in the end everyting happens at just the right time anyway because (as you say) time doesn’t even exist. That was great post again, Allison!

    1. Allison Marie Post author

YES, Erika!! Yes, yes, yes. I love your words. We do so trouble ourselves about time – where we were, where we’re headed, how fast. Catching up, yadda, ya.

Let it GO, baby. We are infinite. We are beyond. :)

Love your spirit and expansive energy, my friend. Thank you so much for your presence here.

      Happy Sunday, love. :)

    Hi Allison,

This is a beautiful exploration of time and more importantly love and peace. I appreciate these reminders and the simplicity of our only real choice; love or fear. Thanks my friend. :)

The journey to love is only a nano second, as simple as moving a veil in front of us. Yet it is so difficult to be simple; we are all in that time-consuming (yes, we have to express in terms of time) journey in our own different ways, Allison. Right now the only thing I know is I am in love, bound in yours to partake of richness of your offerings, pouring like honey showers over a house of candy…best wishes.

    1. Allison Marie Post author

      Dearest Raj,

Your words are ever so elegant. “moving a veil in front of us” . . . what a perfectly gorgeous image, and so true.

It is difficult to be simple. My goodness this is the truth. Complex, creative little creatures that we are – we really do come up with a million ways to describe our journeys – collective and individual.

I am so grateful for your presence, dear friend. And I thank you for your glow.

      Peace, always, always,

  5. Meg Evans

Yes, a journey is measured by distance and time, whereas self-discovery and spiritual development have more to do with changing perspectives and feeling at peace. Always helpful to be reminded of that!

    1. Allison Marie Post author

      Heyyyy Meg,

Love hearing from you, my spirited friend!

And I’m so glad this piece resonated for you. All to do with perspective and peace – you are on the money, there.

On that note – I’m sending you much peace and light today, dear one. Stay amazing. :)

  6. Val

Love this Allison! Thank you for the time /journey perspective. Like Noelle, I see time as earthbound.
I have never thought of myself as a seeker … but as an explorer. Love and peace are already here and can be embraced in a moment.

      Hello, hello dear Val,

I’m so glad this one resonated for you. It was a joy and a pleasure to share it with you.

It is so interesting to me to hear all the perspectives and how we each view our individual quests. I love that you think of yourself as an explorer. So much out there to experience and uncover, right. And just as you so perfectly say, Love and peace are already here. Beautiful.

I am so grateful for your light, presence and thoughts. Wishing you every gorgeous adventure of the spirit . . .

Thank you, my friend, for your glow! :)

    Hello Allison,

As usual, I love your idea of Love here :) I too, believe that Love is like a natural instinct, a reflex which comes to us naturally. Some avoid it, some neglect it, most fear it, but in the end we all have to submit to it. Being in Love, will make miracles happen and the part of submitting to Love is the most difficult.
Love this “There is only Love and our moment to moment decision to align ourselves within it.”

And, the example of beard till ankles is awesome :D Wish I can have a beard, let alone till the ankles ;)

Light and Love to you, Allison <3

      My gorgeous friend,

Hello, hello, love! Thank you so much for your words, thoughts and warm presence here. I am so very glad you enjoyed this piece and found some connections to your own experience. That is the BEST. :)

I love how you say this: “Some avoid it, some neglect it, most fear it, but in the end we all have to submit to it.” That is so very true, isn’t it. And we learn it over and over again, right. Trusting is one of the hardest parts. We want so badly to be in control of it all.

Haha, I totally have a thing for beards (and long hair) lately. I’ve not yet seen anyone with a beard down to his ankles – but that would be pretty radical, yeah?

Thank you for your brilliant glow, Darshith.

Sending so much grand Love and Light to you, always,

      1. Darshith

Yes, Trusting is really very hard. More hard is when you know you are not wrong and want others to trust you. I am, kind of at this juncture and trying to make others trust me and believe me. I read somewhere, “Those who need explanation, never understands us and those who understands us, never need an explanation”. Love is a tricky thing, for sure :D Thank you as always for loads of Love and wishes :) You and your wonderful words, make my day brighter :) <3

        1. Allison Marie Post author

It is so true, we cannot control what others think of us. All we can do is be honest with ourselves and speak our truth the way we know how. I have definitely been there, my friend. It’s so hard when we feel like we are not being heard or understood. I love your quote, it makes a lot of sense in so many ways.

There is only so much explaining we can do. If people don’t understand then they are free to go in peace.

It is my absolute pleasure and joy to share the Love and wishes with you, always. :)

Sending much light and peace your way, angel. Big hugs.
